Stellarium brings a planetarium to your computer’s desktop as realistic as a 3D real one you get to see with the naked eye or with a telescope. After the installation, all you need to do is set the coordinates and enjoy.

With a catalog of over 600,000 stars and the possibility to update the database, this application empowers you to see asterisms, constellations (of over 15 different cultures), nebulae, planets, satellites, and a realistically rendered Milky Way.

In terms of technical features, the program is fitted with a powerful zoom, time control, and plenty of special effects, such as twinkling or shooting stars, cosmic events simulations, the possibility to add artificial satellites, and skin-able landscapes.

Stellarium features and benefits:
  • Realistic simulation of the sky, sunrise and sunset
  • Default catalogue of over 600,000 stars; downloadable additional catalogues for up to 210 million stars
  • Images of almost all Messier objects and the Milky Way
  • Artistic illustrations for all 88 modern constellations
  • More than a dozen different cultures with their constellations
  • Solar and lunar eclipse simulation
  • Photorealistic landscapes
