Do you need to convert various file types to other file types? Of course, you can install a program to handle each type of conversion. You will end up using a dozen different applications just to convert some common file types like MP3, AVI, PDF, PNG, or JPG.

There is a better alternative though. You can use one program to perform most of the conversions: File Blender.

This software can not only convert to and from all of the popular file formats, but also perform a variety of other tasks. Let’s take a look at some of the features of this software. As a command line wrapper, the program can be configured to work with most file types in existence.

In other words, you can expand the functionality of the program by adding action packages. By default, the program knows how to convert most popular video (AVI, WMV, MP4, FLV, etc.), audio (MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, etc.), and image (GIF, JPG, BMP, TIF, etc.) formats.

During our testing, the program did a great job at quickly converting these files. You also get a PDF and TIFF Splitter and Joiner tool. Its name is pretty self-explanatory, so you can use it to split large PDFs and TIFFs into smaller files (or join several smaller files into a large one). The program is also able to encrypt files you wish to protect.

Of course, it can also decrypt files (if possible, of course). If you run a website, use the PNG Optimizer utility to optimize your images with one click, reducing their file size while preserving most of the quality. Also, website owners will find the JS/CSS Minifier and Obfuscator tool especially helpful. It enables you to minimize and obfuscate (remove all spaces and make the code a block of text) JavaScript and CSS code. The program can clean HTML and XML code automatically and can even convert fonts from TTF to EOT and back. In our tests, File Blender behaved great – it managed to convert everything we threw at tit quickly and without errors.

The interface and options are not very advanced, but the program works with a huge variety of formats. It is also expandable and, unlike its competitors, works fast and manages to convert anything in seconds.
